Requirements
- Persons who meet the following requirements may take the habilitation tests as Tourist Guides of Cantabria:
a) Be of legal age.
b) Be Spanish or a national of one of the other Member States of the European Union or of a country associated with the Agreement on the European Economic Area or a national of a State to which, by virtue of the International Treaties concluded by the European Union and ratified by Spain, the free movement of workers is applicable or with which there is a reciprocity agreement referring to the field of nationality, or possess the nationality of a non-EU state with legal residence in Spain and a recognised right to carry out a remunerated activity as a self-employed person or as an employee, under the terms established by current regulations.
c) To be in possession of a university degree of Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, Graduate or other officially recognised equivalent or to be in possession of one of the qualifications of Higher Technician in Tourist Guide, Information and Assistance, Higher Technician in Tourism Information and Marketing or Technician in Tourism Companies and Activities. In the case of foreign degrees, the homologation of the same by the competent authority must be accredited.
d) In the case of people who already have the habilitation as a tourist guide of Cantabria and wish to have a new language recognized, they must be registered in the corresponding Registry of the General Directorate of Tourism and Hospitality. - The established requirements must be met on the day of the deadline for submission of applications.

- Art. 14. 2 of the Law 39/2015, of 1 October, of the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations, establishes the obligatory nature of the electronic management for certain subjects as, for example, a) The juridical persons, b) Entities without legal personality, c) Those who carry out a professional activity for which compulsory membership is required, for the procedures and actions they carry out with the Public Administrations in the exercise of said professional activity. In any case, within this group, notaries and property and mercantile registrars shall be included. d) Those who represent an interested party who is obliged to relate electronically with the Administration, e) The employees of the Public Administrations for the procedures and actions that they carry out with them due to their condition of public employee, in the form in which it is determined by regulation by each Administration.

The application for admission may be submitted to the Registry of the Directorate General of Tourism and Hospitality, and in any of the places and by the means indicated in article 134.8 of Law 5/2018, of 22 November, on the Legal Regime of the Government, the Administration and the Institutional Public Sector of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.
In the event that it is opted for submission through the Post Office, it must be presented in an open envelope so that it can be dated and stamped by the staff of that Company before being certified.
