Requirements

Before opening a car repair workshop, the owner of the workshop or his legal representative must submit a responsible declaration to the competent body in matters of industry of the Autonomous Community in which he indicates the classification of the workshop, states that he meets the requirements established in its regulatory regulations, that he has the documentation that accredits it, that it undertakes to maintain compliance during the validity of the activity and that it is responsible for the execution of the works is carried out in accordance with the rules and requirements established in its regulatory regulations.

The following documentation must be available for immediate presentation to the competent Administration when it so requires in the exercise of its powers of inspection, verification and control:

  • Technical study that will include, at least, a detailed list of the tools, equipment and tools available, according to the branches of activity that they are going to carry out, as well as a detailed list of the various works and services that the workshop may provide.
  • Written authorization from the national manufacturer, or from the legal representative of the foreign manufacturer, in the case of official brand workshops.

Modifications to the data included in said declaration must also be communicated, as well as the cessation of its activity. This communication must be made within one month of the modifications or cessation of the activity.

Likewise, prior to the commissioning and/or substantial modification of installations subject to industrial safety regulations (low-voltage electrical installation, fire protection installation, pressure equipment, etc.), the technical documentation established in the corresponding applicable regulations must be submitted (project, end-of-work certificate, installation certificate, etc.). etc.). This documentation will not be required in the case of changes of ownership of workshops in operation.
