Any economic activity that involves the creation, production, restoration or repair of artistic or popular goods is considered an artisan activity. Likewise, the provision of services carried out through processes in which the activity carried out is predominantly manual and that results in an individualized final product that is different from a fully mechanized industrial production or in large series will be considered an artisan activity. Artisanal activity may imply the use of digital or analogue tools, auxiliary machinery and other assets, as long as their use is part of one of the processes of making the products or services and does not completely replace personal intervention to obtain the final product or service.

Requirements
- Develop an artisan activity. Any economic activity that involves the creation, production, restoration or repair of artistic or popular goods is considered an artisan activity. Likewise, the provision of services carried out through processes in which the activity carried out is predominantly manual and that results in an individualized final product that is different from a fully mechanized industrial production or in large series will be considered an artisan activity.
- That the activity carried out appears in the Register of Artisan Activities of Cantabria.
- That the person responsible for the productive activity is the one who directs or controls the entire production process, ensuring the artisan nature of the product.
- That the owner of the economic unit is registered with the economic activities tax and is up to date with the payment of their tax and Social Security obligations.
- That the number of people employed does not exceed ten.
- That the artisan responsible for the activity meets one of the following requirements:
a) To be in possession of a degree obtained in accordance with current legislation or to have an academic degree that qualifies for the craft practice in question.
b) To exercise notoriously and publicly the activity of artisan trade. - Make the payment of the corresponding fee.
