Requirements

The Directorate-General responsible for the matter may authorise, on an exceptional basis and with the prior agreement of the parents or legal guardians, the permanence until the age of twenty-one of pupils who are enrolled in specific special education centres, provided that such extension:
a) Help them to achieve a greater degree of socialization or significant achievements in the achievement of the objectives programmed for them.
b) It does not involve an increase in the staff of the Centre or those who attend to school transport and, in the case of private centres, it does not involve an increase in the number of subsidised units.
c) It does not imply increasing the number of school transport vehicles.
d) It does not prevent the enrolment of another student of compulsory school age.
