This procedure assesses the appropriateness of awarding a cash prize for the accidental discovery of archaeological remains, either as a result of natural events, of a removal of earth carried out for purposes other than archaeology, or of the execution of a demolition or any other type of work in places where the existence of movable or immovable remains is not presumed.
The discoverer and the owner of the land on which the accidental discovery materializes will be entitled to receive the prize under the terms established in Law 11/1998, of October 13, on Cultural Heritage of Cantabria.

Requirements
The prize will not be awarded to people authorised to carry out archaeological or speleological activities by the competent department in matters of Cultural Heritage, nor professionals in the field, nor finds that are the product of illegal or unauthorised activities.
To be entitled to the awarding of the prize, it will be necessary that the discovery is accidental, movable, has not been made in an area declared or initiated as an Asset of Cultural Interest, or Asset of Local Interest, and has not been unnecessarily removed from its context.
