The purpose of the Basic Order is to regulate the general framework necessary for the financing, within the limits of the budgetary appropriations approved for this purpose, of the current expenses that arise as a result of the development of activities that are specific to the centres and other regional entities, recognised as such by their respective Autonomous Communities, settled in the territory of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, that collaborate and share the social and cultural life of Cantabria, taking into account the principles of equality, competition and objectivity in their concession.
The subsidies awarded must refer to activities that have as their purpose the integration and social, cultural, sports or tourist dissemination exchange carried out in the territorial area of Cantabria or other Autonomous Communities or provinces, which contribute to the memory of the origin of the center or the knowledge of its land, promote collaboration between Regional Centers, or involve the carrying out of activities and projects related to Cantabrian culture and traditions, without prejudice to those of origin and provided that they have a markedly participatory nature and interculturality is promoted between the Community of Origin and Cantabria, in order to promote the integration of people from other Autonomous Communities. They must be addressed to citizens residing in Cantabria, regardless of their origin.
