The Grants are part of the new Operational Programme of the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFF 2021-2027) approved by Commission Decision C (2022) 8732 final, dated 29/11/2022 and the Council Agreement of 7 July 2021. The objective of this regulation is to promote the competitiveness of fishery products by supporting investments on board to improve their quality and added value. It is considered strategic to reduce the accident rate of the fleet, as well as to improve safety, working conditions, health, and hygiene on board.

The beneficiaries of the aid regulated in this Order may be Shipowners or Owners of fishing vessels, natural or legal persons, communities of property or any other type of grouping of those that meet the requirements established in this Order, as well as those required for this type of aid in the rest of its regulatory regulations.

Against this Resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Cantabria, without prejudice to the possibility of filing an optional appeal for reconsideration before the Minister of Rural Development, Livestock, Fisheries and Food within a period of one month from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Cantabria.
