Registration in the Register of Companies with Risk for Asbestos (RERA) of Cantabria.

The purpose of the register of companies at risk due to asbestos is the registration, registration, filing, modification and processing of the registered data of companies that are going to carry out activities or operations included in article 3.1 of Royal Decree 396/2006, of 31 March, whose main facilities are located in the territory of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. The Register of companies at risk from asbestos in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria is unique, administrative and public in nature and is attached to the Directorate-General responsible for Labour.
All companies that are going to carry out activities or operations in which their workers are exposed or are likely to be exposed to asbestos fibres or materials containing asbestos are obliged to register in the Register of Companies with Asbestos Risk (RERA).

Requirements

1. Companies whose main facilities are located in Cantabria and which are going to carry out activities or operations in which their workers are or are likely to be exposed to asbestos fibres, included in the scope of application of Royal Decree 396/2006, of 31 March, are obliged to register, especially:

  • Demolition work of buildings where asbestos or materials containing asbestos exist.
  • Dismantling work of elements, machinery or tools where asbestos or materials containing it exist.
  • Work and operations aimed at the removal of asbestos, or materials containing it, from equipment, units (such as ships, vehicles, trains), installations, structures or buildings.
  • Maintenance and repair work on asbestos materials in equipment (such as ships, vehicles, trains), installations, structures or buildings.
  • Maintenance and repair work that involves a risk of detachment of asbestos fibres due to the existence and proximity of asbestos materials.
  • Transport, treatment and destruction of waste containing asbestos.
  • Authorised landfills for asbestos waste.
  • All other activities or operations in which asbestos-containing materials are handled, provided that there is a risk of asbestos fibres being released into the work environment.

2. Communicate any variation in the data declared within fifteen days from the date on which such changes occur.
3. Notify the cessation of the activity with asbestos risk for its removal from the Register.

Art. 14. 2 of the Law 39/2015, of 1 October, of the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations, establishes the obligatory nature of the electronic management for certain subjects as, for example, a) The juridical persons, b) Entities without legal personality, c) Those who carry out a professional activity for which compulsory membership is required, for the procedures and actions they carry out with the Public Administrations in the exercise of said professional activity.
