The declaration of regional interest is a necessary requirement for the approval procedure of the Singular Projects of Regional Interest to be followed.
Prior to the approval of a Singular Project, the formal declaration of regional interest must be made.
It is the responsibility of the Government, at the proposal of the Minister responsible for territorial planning, after hearing the affected City Councils, and the competent department in the matter subject matter of the PSIR, to pronounce on the concurrence of the aforementioned regional interest.
