Grants for interventions for advocacy, advocacy and empowerment of women.

Regulatory Bases for the granting of subsidies on a competitive basis for the implementation of interventions for the promotion, defense of the rights and empowerment of women in developing countries, in the following lines of action, under the conditions and with the requirements established in these bases and in the respective calls:
a) Subsidies for the Promotion and Defense of Women's Rights and that contribute to eradicating violence against women and its discrimination in both public and private spaces.
b) Subsidies to promote access to resources and opportunities, participation with equity and their empowerment in all spheres: political, social and economic.

General bases, call and submission deadlines.

Requirements

1. Public or private non-profit legal entities, as defined in articles 28.1 and 29.2 of Cantabria Law 4/2007, of 4 April, on international cooperation for the development of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, which meet the following requirements, may be beneficiaries of the subsidies:
a) Be legally constituted and non-profit entities.
b) Be registered in the corresponding Register of Associations or Foundations prior to the publication of the corresponding call.
c) Prove that they have a registered office or permanent delegation in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria prior to the publication of the corresponding call.
d) To include in its statutes as one of its objectives the promotion of equality between women and men and/or the defence and promotion of the figure and rights of women and/or to encourage the active participation of women in Community actions.
e) To have full legal capacity and to act, and to have a structure capable of guaranteeing the fulfilment of its purposes.
(f) To respect the code of conduct for non-governmental organizations for development, where appropriate.
g) Be specialised and have experience in the interventions that are the subject of the grant at least two years prior to the publication of the corresponding call for applications and have carried out at least three interventions whose purpose is to deal with equality and/or the promotion and defence of women's rights. Interventions carried out will be understood as those whose execution has been completed on the date of publication of the respective call.
h) Have as a counterpart, local partner, or entity that executes the intervention in the field an organization that contemplates the following requirements:

  1. That it is a women's organization whose main mission is the promotion, defense of the rights of women and/or girls, and/or the empowerment of women and that works under a feminist perspective and/or women's rights.
  2. That it is legally constituted before the publication of the corresponding call.
  3. That they have experience in the execution of at least three projects in the subsidy lines provided for in the corresponding call; and/or have worked together with the applicant organisation in the implementation of at least two projects in the aforementioned area.

2. Groups of legally constituted natural or legal persons, public or private, which, by reason of the aims, object or scope of the activity, can carry out the actions that motivate the granting of the subsidy, and which meet the requirements established in the respective call for applications, may also obtain the status of beneficiaries.

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 working days, counted from the day following the publication in the Official Gazette of Cantabria of the extract of the call referred to in article 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Subsidies.
