Requirements
The honorary designation of "Festival of Tourist Interest of the Autonomous Community" will be awarded to those festivals or events that are held in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria and offer real interest from the tourist point of view, involve a manifestation of cultural values and popular tradition, with special consideration for their ethnological characteristics, and that have a special importance as a tourist attraction.
For the granting of the declaration, special account will be taken of the antiquity of the celebration of the festival or event in question, its continuity over time and the originality and diversity of the acts that are carried out.
It may be requested by the corresponding City Council and by the Centres for Tourism Initiatives or by interested organisations, associations or individuals by means of an application addressed to the Directorate General of Tourism.

In person: At the Registration Assistance Office of the Directorate General of Tourism located in the Science and Technology Park of Cantabria, C/Albert Einstein, 4 in Santander or in any of the established places referred to in article 134 of the Law of Cantabria 5/2018, of 22 November, of the Legal Regime of the Government, the Administration and the Institutional Public Sector of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.
If the application is sent by post, it must be submitted in an open envelope so that the name of the office and the date, place, hour and minute of its admission by the postal staff are clearly stated at the head of the first page of the document, in accordance with the provisions of Article 31 of Royal Decree 1829/1999. of 3 December, which approves the Regulation regulating the provision of postal services insofar as it does not conflict with Law 43/2010, of 30 December, on the universal postal service, on the rights of users and the postal market.
