This measure aims to compensate farmers for carrying out, on a voluntary basis, actions aimed at improving the specific welfare of the cattle in their livestock herd and leading to an improvement in the quality of livestock production.

Requirements
- Requirements
- The owners of cattle farms located in Cantabria and registered in the General Register of Livestock Farms of Cantabria as production/reproduction, except feedlots, may apply for the aid provided for in Order DES/07/2025, of 24 February.
- The owners of livestock farms benefiting from this aid must meet at least the following requirements:
to. Be an active farmer in accordance with article 26 of Order DES/07/2025, of 24 February.
b. Comply with the relevant cross-compliance requirements for animal welfare as set out in Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, agricultural activity as set out in Art.4 of Regulation 1307/2013, the rational and sustainable use and use of plant protection products set out in Royal Decree 1311/2012 and the fertiliser regulations of Royal Decree 47/2022 and Royal Decree 506/2013.
c. Comply with all current regulations on animal health, hygiene of primary production and identification and registration of farms, and especially measures relating to animal welfare.
d. Not have been sanctioned by a final administrative resolution for infringements in the field of health, hygiene, animal welfare and identification and registration of farms, in the three years prior to the end of the deadline for submitting applications.
and. Comply with the additional animal welfare practices established in Annex XI of Order DES/07/2025, of 24 February, in all the farms of which they are the owner.
f. Be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, as well as be up to date with their obligations with the Treasury of the Government of Cantabria, and comply with the rest of the requirements set out in articles 12.2 and 12.3 of Law 10/2006, of 17 July, on Subsidies of Cantabria.
g. Applications for aid will only be accepted with a minimum number of primable units of 4 LU per applicant.- The owners of livestock farms benefiting from this aid must comply with the following commitments:
to. Maintain the additional animal welfare practices set out in Annex XI for the entire census for one year.
b. The maintenance of at least 80% of the livestock census for which the payment has been received.

4. The single application must be accompanied by the following complementary documentation:to. Certificate of quality in animal welfare issued by an accredited body or equivalent justification justifying compliance with the additional animal welfare practices established in Annex XI of Order DES/07/2025, of 24 February.
b. Veterinary report justifying advice on animal welfare on the farm in accordance with Annex XII of Order DES/07/2025, of 24 February.
```- Persons or entities in which any of the circumstances set out in sections 2 and 3 of Article 12 of the Law of Cantabria 10/2006, of 17 July, on Subsidies of Cantabria occur, may not be considered as beneficiaries.
- The amount of the aid will be €51/LU. The number of LUUs to be subsidised shall be calculated on the basis of the arithmetic mean of the eligible animals present on the applicant's holding on the following four dates: 1 January, 1 February, 1 March and 1 April of the year of the current application. All cattle are eligible except for those belonging to the threatened loscal breeds: tudanca, monchina and pasiega.
