- Be over twenty-five years of age. If there are two adoptive parents, it will be sufficient for one of them to have reached that age. In any case, the age difference between the adopter and the adoptee shall be at least sixteen years and may not exceed forty-five years, except in the cases provided for in article 176.2. When there are two adoptive parents, it will be sufficient that one of them does not have that maximum age difference with the adoptee.
